Air Aware Labs lands the launch

Welcome to the fifty-ninth edition of our newsletter, as we launch AirTrack 24/7, finalise our plans for the London Marathon and pitch at Queen Mary University of London! This newsletter is aimed at investors, collaborators, future hires and early adopters of our products.
We regularly update our knowledge page with the latest evidence on air pollution. But this week, we had a chance to review all the key studies that have come out in the past 9-12 months on the health impacts of pollution. We have summarised them in our community blog. Everything from respiratory health studies from Delhi to the UK to Hong Kong; to cognitive and mental health and even sleep. And from new findings in specific diseases and conditions such as diabetes, osteoporosis, eczema and heart tissue scarring; to deeper understanding of how the mix of pollutants affects overall health and fitness. This growing body of scientific evidence continues to push us to scale our impact! Please join us on our mission - Personalising Air Quality, for everyone.

Hot off the press
- we had an amazing launch day for our 24/7 AirTrack feature - AirCoach - last Thursday! Thank you to everyone who acted as ambassadors to spread the word: we got 80 sign ups in a day. Lots has changed in the new version of AirTrack - we posted about the new scoring system and will post more explainers in coming weeks
- we're continuing to prepare for our solution being delivered at the London Marathon on 26 April, and for elites in the run up to the event. And we're hugely grateful to Global Sustainable Sport for highlighting both this and AirCoach, alongside their wider impactful work on air pollution, in their newsletter
- next week will see the launch of our pilot with London Legacy Development Corporation where up to 50 employees will be using AirTrack for two months while we test community and commercial impact. Meanwhile, elsewhere in East London, we enjoyed our pitch at the Queen Mary Social Venture Fund annual competition, on launch day last week!

Go with us towards clean air
- we were delighted that so many offers to act as AirTrack ambassadors came from Africa but this highlighted a wider problem of data availability on the continent. We are looking at ways to address this and would love to connect on this globally
- next Thursday our CEO will pitch to the Transatlantic Angel Conference and will also be involved in Playfair Female Founder Office Hours on 23 April
- we continue to be amazed by all the support we get from far and wide. Meet the team
This edition, we are re-introducing Louise Thomas, our CEO and co-founder. Louise says: "The past two+ years leading Air Aware Labs has been the greatest learning experience of my life - and I've had a few! I threw myself into the world of entrepreneurship straight from leaving the civil service, without knowing much about what to expect. Sometimes I say it's like childbirth - if anyone told you what would actually happen you might never do it!
"From raising investment when all the odds were against us (air quality not an exciting topic to many; being a female founder; and being first-time founders - not to mention the macro-economic climate) to leading a team building world-leading technology. And from partnering up with household names like Patagonia, London Marathon and Google, to seeing our product make a real difference in how health systems respond to the enormous threat of air pollution.
"Since my last meet the team contribution, I have been posting regularly on Linked In about air pollution, founder life and a few other topics! My aim is to use this amazing platform to showcase our work, give air quality the prominence it deserves and to offer encouragement to others on the entrepreneurial journey. I love to hear back from AirTrack users, fellow founders, doctors, investors, campaigners and anyone who can help our goal of reducing the impact of air pollution on global health."
