Air Aware Labs covers London

Welcome to the fifty-sixth edition of our newsletter, as we start an impact demonstrator programme, continue to develop AirCoach for launch in April and conclude a health economics model for AirTrack! This newsletter is aimed at investors, collaborators, future hires and early adopters of our products.
This week we have been looking at the impact of air pollution on children. This includes such sobering statistics as 114,000 children admitted to hospital in London last year due to breathing difficulties, and three times the risk of developing asthma for children using sporting facilities with high ozone levels. Thinking about our users' day to day lives has led us to build AirCoach, our 24-hour tracking feature, which we are launching in April. This stems from demand from the health sector in particular. We have set out our journey from tracking to air intelligence in our recent article. Please join us on our mission - Personalising Air Quality, for everyone.

Alongside our work in the pan-European Impact Deal to demonstrate how we can best use data for social impact, we will have a busy few months!
- we have concluded work with Medipex Ltd on a health economics model for use of AirTrack in asthma and COPD care. Please contact us if you would like to learn more and look out for the upcoming case study

Meet the investor
This edition, we are meeting Adrian Hooper, who has joined our current investment round. Adrian says says: "I’m a human geographer and transport planner with experience working on a variety of transport infrastructure development projects across rail, highways, and most recently, active travel. I’ve always been fascinated by cities and the development strategies adopted to improve liveability, and my work is driven by the desire to address and overcome the inevitable challenges associated with highly populated and congested places.
"History has taught us what does and doesn’t work well in relation to urban liveability, and cities around the world are now undergoing transformative changes which place population health and wellbeing at the forefront of public realm design and transport system development. Designing cities which optimise the efficiency of movement can help address many other contemporary urban issues, and in particular, improved walking and cycling infrastructure provides an important foundation from which many other environmental and social benefits can be achieved, none more so than the quality of the air we breathe.
"Having collaborated with Air Aware Labs on an air quality improvement project in the London Borough of Brent, I was inspired to invest in the company to help them grow and help more people understand their personal exposure to air pollution at a level of detail not seen before. Air Aware Labs' air quality insights are helping make complex data more accessible, understandable and actionable. I see unlimited potential for AirTrack to be used around the world, so more people can be better informed about the risks of air pollution and empowered to take action to reduce their exposure and improve their health."
