Arcanys is an international software development company with teams primarily based in the Philippines and additional staff across Europe. Through an internal staff survey, Arcanys identified two key priorities: Employee health & wellbeing and Productivity & performance. Leadership recognised that air pollution exposure could be an overlooked contributor to both.

The Challenge

Arcanys’ CEO and Head of HR wanted to better understand the levels of air pollution exposure their team experienced and how it varied by commute, activity, or location. They needed to determine how this exposure influenced health and focus, while identifying practical steps to reduce risk. The solution required being:

• Result: 100% of surveyed participants reported learning more about air pollution exposure.
• The Opportunity: Analysis of activity paths during the pilot revealed a significant Optimisation Gap to improve routes and reduce exposure to air pollution.

While the pilot initially focused on awareness, the AirTrack routing engine identified a 37% potential headline reduction in air pollution exposure across the cohort. By using "Cleanest" or "Balanced" routing options, employees could move from simply tracking risks to actively eliminating over a third of their environmental toxic load.
