Air Aware Labs gets kitted out

Welcome to the sixtieth edition of our newsletter, as we review our latest product launch and continue to help users find their way around the new AirTrack features. We are very excited about our work at the London Marathon this weekend! This newsletter is aimed at investors, collaborators, future hires and early adopters of our products.
Like everyone working in air pollution, we regularly refer to the statistic of 8 million deaths worldwide. But it's easy to forget what this really means - what it's made up of and how it compares to other threats to health. So we have broken it down here. For example, the biggest single risk is cardiovascular (not respiratory, as many may believe). And the annual mortality is around double what the world saw at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. It is for these reasons and more that we are bringing tools to protect health! Please join us on our mission - Personalising Air Quality, for everyone.

Meet the team
This edition, we are re-introducing William Hicks, our Chief Scientific Officer and co-founder. Will says: "Carrying out scientific research at Air Aware Labs is unique. We’re in a position to drive impact by both generating new insights whilst encouraging healthy behaviour change. One of the most exciting aspects of my CSO role is the freedom to build and analyse datasets at a global scale, capturing 24/7 exposure and physiological factors.
"So far, our research has focused on health equity in England and the planning process with a paper under review, but we’re also investigating plenty of other topics to do with air quality, sports and health outcomes.Alongside this, we’ve been collaborating with a range of universities and departments to strengthen AirTrack and provide a tool that researchers need. While it’s very rewarding to be hands-on in lots of these projects, I’m also looking forward to the point where researchers are using AirTrack independently as a standard tool in their work."
