Air Aware Labs gets pitch perfect

Welcome to the forty-seventh edition of our newsletter, as we co-launch a new CSR framework on air pollution and continue enhancing our products to address significant need. This newsletter is aimed at investors, collaborators, future hires and early adopters of our products.
A major annual report on the health impacts of air pollution was released this week, reconfirming the data that air pollution leads to 8 million premature deaths per year. The greatest driver is outdoor pollution from fine particulate matter - this is increasingly seen as the primary health risk. With the northern hemisphere entering winter, and attendant risks from events including fireworks and bonfires, as well as the impact of domestic wood-burning on the outdoor environment, now more than ever it is crucial to track and reduce exposure to air pollution. Please join us on our mission - Personalising Air Quality, for everyone.

Hot off the press
- we are building and enhancing our AirTrack features every day - with support from our user testers. And we are kicking off a project through Practera to look at our positioning of our AirTrack Enterprise offer. We continue to iterate and improve our business-to-business website, which sets out our offers for health, fitness, employee wellbeing and more. Business France UK has been helping us to explore opportunities for B2B collaborations in Paris, Lyon and Grenoble - leading cities in sustainable urban living
- we have launched, with Responsible 100 and Global Action Plan, the first dedicated section on air pollution within a Corporate Social Responsibility Framework - we would love any feedback
- we did our first foreign language seminar last week - in Spanish, with colleagues from Mexico. And we have been busy pitching - following the great CBIT event pictured above, we have presented at FundMyPitch and the Santander X second round heats. Although we didn't make it through to the live finals for Santander X, we were delighted to be placed within the top 25 start ups within this major competition!

Meet the partner
We are running a series of spotlights on the many people and organisations who have supported our journey so far. This week, we are meeting Roddy Weller, who is a Project Lead for Clean Air at the World Economic Forum. Roddy says, "At the Forum, we’re focused on showing business is a force for good with a people mindset. This includes finding new opportunities, knowledge partners and collaborative projects where we can scale learnings through global leadership. Clean Air is a strategic growth area for our Centre for Nature and Climate. It includes the Alliance for Clean Air – the first global private sector initiative to tackle air pollution – and the Global Future Council on Clean Air – a multisectoral think tank community of 20 thought leaders and experts.
"I've been working with Air Aware Labs over the past year to highlight innovations in the world of air quality. I’m aligned with Air Aware Labs and their approach to engage communities into solution building. In the latest edition of the World Economic Forum Global Risks Report, pollution was ranked as the sixth most severe global risk over the next two years—up four places from last year. It was also listed among the top 10 global risks for the next decade, and young people under 30 place it third. I’m excited to work with them to raise greater awareness, promote air quality into decision making and engage larger ecosystems to drive action."
