Air Aware Labs addresses women's health

Welcome to the seventy-second edition of our newsletter, as we launch more AirTrack features and progress our work on pregnancy and pollution exposure! This newsletter is aimed at investors, collaborators, future hires and early adopters of our products.
Women are disproportionately and differently affected by air pollution, whether as a result of lifestyle differences or physiology. In particular, during pregnancy there are multiple risk factors for both women and unborn child. But the impact is also seen in more severe asthma cases, propensity to dementia and fertility challenges, to name a few. Therefore we were pleased this week to take part in a major women's health conference and connect our data, insights and solutions with others building in women's health. Please join us on our mission - Personalising Air Quality, for everyone.

Meet the partner
We have started a series of introductions to our key partners. This edition we are meeting Laura Horsfall, Principal Investigator for our project on pollution and pregnancy at UCL. Laura says: "I am a Principal Research Fellow at UCL's Institute of Health Informatics and a Wellcome Career Development Award holder in Environmental Epidemiology. My research links large-scale health and environmental datasets to understand how air pollution affects health across the population, with a particular focus on vulnerable groups.
"I am collaborating with Air Aware Labs to explore how the AirTrack app could be adapted to support pregnant women in reducing their exposure to air pollution in everyday life. The project involves co-design workshops with pregnant women to understand their needs and preferences, with the aim of developing a pregnancy-specific version of AirTrack that is evidence-based, user-centred, and genuinely useful during pregnancy."
