Air Aware Labs launches with Garmin

Welcome to the seventieth edition of our newsletter, as we pledge for clean air data in Africa, promote our September offer and jointly launch AirTrack with Garmin! This newsletter is aimed at investors, collaborators, future hires and early adopters of our products.
This week we joined a major global pledging session for International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies. In it, Ambassador Samantha Power set out the huge potential gains from investing in clean air, alongside the tiny relative funding for the sector. Only 0.1% of global philanthropic funding goes to air quality, while the expected economic gains from such funding are at least 30 to 1. The mismatch gets worse when looking at Africa, which receives only 1% of global funding despite huge needs. That is why we were happy to focus our pledge on data in Africa. Please join us on our mission - Personalising Air Quality, for everyone.

Hot off the press
- we have now jointly launched AirTrack with the Garmin Health Connected Ecosystem. This enables Premium AirTrack users to get air quality insights on their watch and to follow our Cleaner Route recommendations. We are grateful to get support of Garmin and look forward to helping Garmin users reduce their pollution exposure
- our pledge for Africa includes roll out of AirTrack in seven countries and analysis of endurance events. We are grateful to partners across the continent in supporting this work. With the number of monitors across this continent of 1.6 billion people being similar to the size of the monitoring network in London, we are delighted to help fill data gaps
- we are also marking International Clean Air Day with a AirTrack offer of 70% off Premium subscriptions for any sign ups in September. Please spread the word!

Meet the partner
We are starting a series of introductions to our key partners. This edition we are meeting Anushah Khan, Communications and Sustainability Manager at Forest. Anushah says: "Forest is London’s homegrown affordable and environmentally sustainable micromobility platform. Forest was founded by Agustin Guilisasti (ex-Cabify) alongside co-founders Caroline Seton and Michael Stewart. The Company already completes almost 2 million rides per month. Its operations are ‘zero emission’, since every bike in its fleet, as well as all service vehicles, are certified to be powered only by zero-carbon energy. Forest is one of the world’s first micro-mobility companies to have B Corp accreditation and the only micro-mobility company to have achieved Verra validation.
"In my work at Forest, we were already thinking about how to tackle poor air quality in London. So we partnered with Air Aware Labs to help raise awareness of air pollution and to encourage cleaner, healthier journeys in the capital. We provide space in the Forest app to promote AirTrack personalised air quality app, to help our riders better understand their exposure to pollution and make more informed decisions about how and where they travel. Looking ahead, we want to build on our partnership by supporting air quality monitoring across London, including sharing emissions-related data to help create a clearer, more localised picture of pollution. By combining access to cleaner transport with better information, we aim to make sustainable, active travel an easier option for Londoners."
