PRESS RELEASE - AirTrack launches Garmin® data integration on Clean Air Day, adding personalised air quality insights into every activity

LONDON, UK — 7 September 2026 — On International Clean Air Day, Air Aware Labs, the company behind the AirTrack app, has launched a new integration with the Garmin Health Connected Ecosystem that helps runners, cyclists and walkers understand the air quality they experienced during every activity.

By using the Garmin Health API, AirTrack Premium users can sync their Garmin Connect™ account and automatically import completed activities into AirTrack. The app calculates an AirTrack Score for the exact route and time of each activity, alongside a pollutant breakdown and location-specific pollen information. The Garmin device displays a live AirTrack score which is fully integrated into post-activity charts in the Connect IQ™ app.

While athletes routinely track pace, heart rate and elevation, they have far less visibility of the air they breathe while exercising. The new integration helps close that gap by placing environmental exposure alongside the other factors people use to understand and plan their activities.

AirTrack app monitors outdoor and indoor air quality and helps over 5,000 users across 90 countries navigate cleaner air routes, avoid pollution hotspots, and make smarter decisions about when and where they go. The app provides current and forecast pollen information(grass, tree and weed pollen) and tracks five key air pollutants: PM2.5, PM10, NO2, O3 and SO2.

Louise Thomas, CEO and co-founder of Air Aware Labs, said: “Athletes already track almost every aspect of their performance, but the air they breathe has largely remained invisible. By integrating Garmin data into the AirTrack app, we can show people the environmental context behind every activity and help them make practical decisions about when and where to exercise.”

The Garmin Health Connected Ecosystem integration is available now to AirTrack Premium users. Users can connect their Garmin Connect account from AirTrack app settings.

As part of International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies, AirTrack is also offering a special introductory offer throughout September, with AirTrack Premium available for £1.99 per month for the first year or £14.99 for the year.
