AirTrack in use in Clean Air events in Uganda

We are delighted to partner with Public Square and Green Lyf Network on Clean Air walks and runs in Kampala, Uganda. They are part of our testing phase for air quality data in Africa.

Using location-based air-quality data, they will examine how route, time and physical activity affect personal exposure to PM2.5 and other pollutants, while testing continuous tracking, pollution hotspot detection, cleaner-route planning, four-day forecasts and personalised AirCoach recommendations.

This is where technology, citizen science and everyday movement come together to generate practical evidence for healthier urban journeys.

This is the first step in our pledge for data in Africa made for International Clean Air Day, 7 September. We are also discussing similar collaborations in Kenya, Botswana, Ghana and Cameroon.
