Helping #TeamBreathe runners understand their air pollution exposure

Air quality matters even more when you have asthma or a lung condition. It can affect how a run feels, when you choose to train, and whether you feel confident exercising outdoors. Ahead of the London Landmarks Half Marathon, Air Aware Labs gave Asthma + Lung UK’s #TeamBreathe runners access to AirTrack Premium. The idea was to help runners see the pollution they were actually exposed to on their own training routes, not just a general air quality score for London.

February is Heart Month

Air pollution can affect heart health. Fine particles (PM2.5) can enter the bloodstream, impact blood vessels, and increase the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and other cardiovascular issues.

At Air Aware Labs, we’ve compiled research on air quality and cardiovascular health in our Evidence Bank — a resource for anyone who wants to understand the science.

We also cover heart health in our article about chronic diseases and air pollution.
