Helping #TeamBreathe runners understand their air pollution exposure

Air quality matters even more when you have asthma or a lung condition. It can affect how a run feels, when you choose to train, and whether you feel confident exercising outdoors. Ahead of the London Landmarks Half Marathon, Air Aware Labs gave Asthma + Lung UK’s #TeamBreathe runners access to AirTrack Premium. The idea was to help runners see the pollution they were actually exposed to on their own training routes, not just a general air quality score for London.

Air Aware Labs has been part of the GoodTech Ventures cohort 2 accelerator since June. At the end of cohort showcase in Techspace, we were awarded one of the prizes for the best start up from the ten on the programme.

GoodTech Ventures is a Community and Accelerator programme, a cross-sector initiative dedicated to nurturing emerging tech solutions that drive transformative social impact for people and communities. The programme aims to streamline the scaling process for early-stage impact-driven tech ventures, enabling them to create and deploy game-changing digital technologies.

The final event was judged by:

  • Naomi Hulston, CEO at Catch22
  • Dr Maria A Nelson, Trustee at Social Tech Trust
  • Rene Perkins, Founder at CityMaaS
  • Alina Klarner, Head of Ventures at Impact Shakers
