Welcome to the fifty-first edition of our newsletter, as we are named Tech Trailblazers, enhance our AI models and report on our findings about air pollution exposure! This newsletter is aimed at investors, collaborators, future hires and early adopters of our products.

This week we launched our first ever Annual Report. This found that 41% of nitrogen dioxide readings and 20% of fine particulate matter readings for our AirTrackers around the globe exceeded World Health Organisation guidelines. Exposure was driven by both steady background pollution, and also short, intense episodes, influenced by route choice, transport mode and timing. The data also revealed that Daily Heart Rate Variability, a marker linked to recovery and resilience, showed a moderate, statistically significant association with air quality. To gain more such insights, please join us on our mission - Personalising Air Quality, for everyone.

Meet the team

This edition, we are meeting Michael Pan, who has just joined as our Asia Growth Adviser. He is a seasoned Investment Banker and China Specialist with deep expertise in corporate strategy and cross-border transactions. He serves as Chief Executive of China Ventures, a London-based strategic advisory firm providing China-focused investment banking and strategic counsel, with a strong focus on the global technology ecosystem and assisting startups in scaling operations within China. Mr. Pan is also Co-Founder and Executive Director of the China UK Business Association, facilitating bilateral trade, investments, and strategic partnerships between China and the UK.

Michael says: "I am thrilled to join Air Aware Labs as its Asia Growth Adviser, a truly inspiring startup with immense potential. AirTrack is a game-changer, providing personalised insights that help users avoid pollution hotspots and protect their health daily. In a world where poor air quality silently affects millions, the app transforms awareness into actionable change. I am particularly excited about the significant opportunities in Asia, especially China, where rising living standards have heightened individual focus on health and wellbeing amid ongoing air quality challenges. Leveraging my expertise and regional network, I am committed to connecting Air Aware Labs with strategic partners and investors to accelerate its market entry, drive growth, and deliver meaningful impact on personal wellbeing."
